Studio A Control Room

Studio A’s Control Room has a pleasant contoured design full of the elements you have become used to expect in a total Santa Fe setting. It’s 22.5 feet deep x 26.5 feet wide open floor space is equaled only by it’s 14 foot skylighted ceiling. The hanging Kilim rugs offer a visual comfort as well as integrating with the professionally tuned acoustics necessary for the perfect mix.

The Studio A Control Room was designed with you in mind. This beautiful and spacious room’s focal point is our console, a Solid State Logic E Frame with G Computer, Total Recall, 32 channels of G modules and 8 channels of E modules for a total of 40 channels. As with all SSL consoles, each channel offers dual signal path, extensive routing capabilities and a compressor/limiter and gate/expander on each channel. The SSL mix automation is world renowned for it's flexibility, ease, and precision.

In addition, a 1971 Neve BCM-10 "sidecar" console with ten 1066 mic pre/eq modules and five additional 1272 mic preamps is seamlessly and flexibly integrated with the SSL patchbay. This combination provides the best of both worlds as two of the most sought after signal paths can be auditioned and selected for tracking or mixing.  96 inputs are available at mixdown.

In keeping with our policy of providing the finest vintage analog and the most advanced digital technologies, Stepbridge now offers ProTools HD in Studio A.

Studio A Tracking Room

Many an artist has commented on this airy, naturally lighted creative space. The dimensions are 25 x 33 feet with a 16 foot ceiling, yet the natural light and décor make for a grand illusion of spaciousness.

The room's open and slightly live character, without excessive coloration from long decay times, makes tracking drums or ensembles a pleasure. Baffling, gobos and a variety of free standing panels provide variable acoustics and separation for multiple sound sources in the main tracking room. Two isolation booths suitable for guitars, horns, live vocals, or percussion are also available with excellent visibility to each other, the main tracking room, and the control room.
